Citizen
Music and lyrics by Bing Futch ©1992 Fajita Musik

there in the snow, he passed the time childish and unthinking, poor as poor could be
and never really caring what the future would bring
turning 25 would change his life, it also changed his mind
he had millions in the bank
he could've passed his time, like he did when he had Rosebud

living as a child was futile
long as he was introducing the elements of
all grown-up corruption
and soon he paid the price for betraying
his long, lost Rosebud

they did everything his way, there was no wrong or right
just a single vision
the bandwagon filled up, it seemed the thing to do
what began as self-assured turned simply into selfish
identities were lost as the man-child tried to compromise
forgetting about Rosebud

living as a child was futile
long as he was introducing the elements of all grown-up corruption
and soon he paid the price for betraying
his long, lost Rosebud

and marriage didn't seem to be the way
there was nothing he could do to make them stay
so lonely, old and dying, he spent all his hours crying
in the Pleasuredome that he called his home
